Tips for Growing Longer, Healthier Hair

Published on January 12, 2011 by in General, Tips

Tired of having short hair and frustrated with how long it takes for your hair to grow? There are some very simple and basic things that can be done to help your hair grow faster. Following these different tips to help grow out your hair is a better option than miracle hair-growing products and probably also a lot cheaper. It does not take magic to grow your hair longer, just a little bit of patience and sensible methods.

First, what you eat is very important. Certain foods contain higher levels of iron and protein, two important nutritional elements to not only keep your hair healthy, strong, and shiny, but also promote the fastest possible growth. Introducing protein and iron-rich foods into your diet is pretty simple. Protein-rich foods include eggs, poultry products, beans, grains, nuts, and many other readily available and yummy foods. Look to foods rich in soy, leafy green veggies, eggs and others to get the necessary amount of iron in your diet.

We all know that healthy hair grows faster. Did you know that cutting whatever dead and split ends off the bottom of your hair can actually make the entire strands healthier? While it might seem to be counterproductive, it is important to regularly trim off the dead ends of your hair, which will actually make your hair healthier and help it to grow faster.

Finally, other ways to make sure your hair is healthy include using a heat protectant spray when hair drying and straightening your hair. Additionally, using hair bands that don’t snag your hair makes sure that you don’t end up with as many shorter hairs.
